Lunar Locks, established in October 2021 by owner Teela Viola, brings a unique approach to hair care. Teela’s journey began in San Diego, CA, where she trained with masters of balayage. Her career took a pivotal turn seven years ago with an Ouidad training class, igniting her passion for curly hair. Since then, she has pursued additional education in various curl techniques and brands, including RezoCut, to enrich her expertise and train her team of stylists.

Lunar Locks distinguishes itself from traditional salons by focusing on embracing and enhancing natural curls. Whether clients are rediscovering their curls or maintaining their curly hair journey, Lunar Locks offers a welcoming environment. All curl stylists at Lunar Locks are trained and boast extensive experience with diverse hair textures.

In addition to specializing in balayage color, highlights, color correction, fillers, and glazes, Lunar Locks ensures every client enjoys a superb experience. Regardless of whose chair you occupy, you can expect not only great results but also a nurturing atmosphere for your curls.

Meet Teela | Owner & Curly Hair Specialist

Founded in 2021 by Teela Marie Viola, Lunar Locks was created with a passion for helping clients feel confident and beautiful in their natural hair. Teela began her career training in balayage and advanced color techniques in San Diego, California. Her passion for textured hair led her to specialize in curly cutting, earning certifications in Ouidad and Rëzo techniques while continuing her education through Cado Academy. With a love for both curls and creative color, Teela specializes in customized curly cuts, dimensional blonding, balayage, and transformations that complement each client’s individual style. At Lunar Locks, it’s about more than great hair. It’s about creating a welcoming, relaxing space where every client feels heard, cared for, and confident leaving the chair.

MEET LEILANI | Licensed Hairstylist - Curly Hair & Color Specialist

Hello, I'm Leilani, a licensed hairstylist with three years of experience in the industry. I was fortunate to begin my cosmetology training in high school, where I developed a strong foundation in haircare. My passion for curly hair led me to specialize in curly cutting, learning from industry experts like Teela and further honing my skills at Milk + Honey Soul Salon.

I take great pride in styling curly hair, particularly in creating beautiful wash-and-go looks. One of my go-to products for enhancing curls is AG Recoil, which I find delivers exceptional results. I’m dedicated to helping my clients embrace and celebrate their natural texture.
My name is Kaleigh, and I have been a hair stylist for about 10 years. I specialize in balayage and lived-in color, which are my absolute favorite techniques to work with. I am certified by Masters of Balayage, having completed one of their advanced courses. Recently, I have expanded my expertise to include working with curly hair, which has been an exciting and rewarding experience.

I took a Mona Cut class in New York City and curly hair cutting class at Milk + Honey Soul Salon, where I gained valuable knowledge about managing and styling coarse curly textures. I’m fortunate to be learning every day from Teela, a top curl specialist, who has been instrumental in furthering my understanding of curly hair.


Outside of my professional life, I am deeply committed to self-care, health, and fitness. I also enjoy spending quality time with my 3-year-old American Bully, Kora.
